Our History
Ogimaa was founded by a group of Marines sitting by the fire at a POW WOW in 2005.
OGIMAA is geographically located on the L'anse Indian Reservation which is the land base of the KEWEENAW Bay Indian Community of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians (successor apparent of the L’anse and Ontonagon Bands). It is located primarily in two non-contiguous sections on either side of the Keweenaw Bay in Baraga County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan state.
